Denotations of this advert = red, attractive/white/30 woman, hand, bottles, writing, white, face, red lips, brand, hair. 

Textual analysis term = 
SETTING = red background 
MISE-EN-SCENE = makeup, hair, bottles, mise-en-scene
FONT = sans serif "the expert for damaged hair"
MIDSHOT 
SYMBOLIC CODE = red lips and bottles 
PROAIRETIC CODE = red lips - love - she could be about to kiss somebody
HERMENEUTIC CODE = the hair of the model - glossy - how did she get her hair so clean? 
COMPOSITION = she takes up half of the page but the bottles take up a quarter 

CONNOTATION 
Mid shot connotes the importance of her hair because it's focussing on the upper half of her body.
Hand showing a stop sign connotes the model wants you to stop and look at the advert. Symbolises connection to the audience which is a direct mode of address 
Colour red connotes romance, boldness, passion, sexuality, sex etc. 
white connotes purity
connotations of the mies-en-scene of the advert is that she is ideal and aspirational for the target audience who are middle aged white women 
Intertextuality - the mies-en-scene of the long flowing hair looks like she is from the romance film 
sans serif bold font of the word "paris" has connotations of fashion 
The colour white or light coloured have connotations of innocence, purity, virginity
CAN TALK ABOUT BOTH OF THE COLOURS THROUGH BINARY OPPOSITION 
Adverts work by making the audience feel dissatisfied with their life and that they need the product to be able to feel satisfied with their life 


Denotations = bag, tie, writing, suit, orange 
TEXTUAL ANALYSIS =
- blunt problem with a simple solution 
- SYMBOLIC CODE/ REFERENTIAL CODE = looks like a type of horror movie due to the fact the man is suffocating
