super flu.

"Super flu coming to UK"
A new epidemic of flu has reached the UK and could cause thousands to become ill. The chief executive of the NHS recently stated that "hospitals all over the country are ready and prepared for an influx of people with the flu". He also stated how people should only visit the major hospitals if it is necessary. The NHS say to go to the hospital if you develop sudden chest pain, have difficulty breathing or you start coughing up blood.
There are possible vaccinations against the new flu virus currently being made and are said to be available within the next few days. The vaccination is recommended to everyone who can get it.
Some common symptoms of the flu are:
  • Fever over 38C
  • Aching muscles.
  • Chills and sweats.
  • Headache.
  • Dry, persistent cough.
  • Fatigue and weakness.
  • Nasal congestion.
  • Sore throat
This recent epidemic is said to have the worst symptoms for a flu for over a decade and is thought to be the worst flu since the outbreak of swine flu in 2009. Children are specifically in danger of catching the flu and spreading it to older members of the family and community that they could be in contact with. Young Children need to be encouraged to wash their hands regularly.
